The coin is dedicated to Ivan Petrovych Kotliarevskyi (1769-1838), an outstanding Ukrainian writer, public figure, the first classicist of modern Ukrainian literature, author of famous works including the poem `Eneida` (Aeneid), the play `Natalka Poltavka` (Natalka from Poltava) and the vaudeville `Moskal-Charivnyk` (The Muscovite-Sorcerer).
