Gustav Klimt's artistic legacy includes 230 paintings, among which are 54 landscapes. Klimt's golden paintings immerse us in a world of bliss, infinitely distant from our daily lives. They are inhabited by beautiful women and luscious landscapes in their own perfect space and time. Beauty reigns here. The coin from the Gustav Klimt series reproduces the painting "Portrait of Friederike Maria Beer", one of the masterpieces dating back to the late years of the artist's life, created in 1916. A key component of Klimt's female image is the attire — it is adorned with ornaments that enhance the face, neck and arms. Klimt borrowed the design of the background with large figures and floral ornamentation from an Asian vase he had in his possession. The original painting is kept in the Tel Aviv Museum of Art. The coin, embellished with amber in its frame, will make a nice decoration for any interior.
