The coin is dedicated to the literary and artistic generation of Ukraine of the 1920s and early 1930s, which gave a powerful impetus to the development of Ukrainian culture, but was mercilessly
repressed by the totalitarian regime. An important cultural center of that period was the Slovo building in Kharkiv – a center of creativity and a place of tragic events, where innovative views 
were born, fierce intellectual discussions flared up, and new artistic movements were born. Mykola Khvylovy (real name Fitilyov) is a key figure of the cultural revival, one of the founders 
of Ukrainian post-revolutionary prose, a poet and publicist.
