The commemorative coin is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of liberation of the city of Kharkiv from the fascist invaders on 23 August 1943 by Steppe Front troops in cooperation with the Voronezh and Southwestern Fronts as a result of the successful counter-offensive of the Soviet Army.
