The coin is dedicated to the supreme commander of the heavenly army, the biblical defender of the true faith and the victor over the dark forces – Archangel Michael. The image of the archistrategist, 
embodied on the deacon’s gate of the Zhovkva iconostasis by Ivan Rutkovych, is a notable monument of Ukrainian Baroque of the late 17th century.
