Pivdenny Bank at II Ukraine Financing Forum: new opportunities for Ukrainian importers-Банк Пивденный

Recently, Pivdenny Bank joined one of the most prominent financial events of the year – II Ukraine Financing Forum. Our bank was represented at this event by Yurii Voievoda, Director of the Department of Investment Business.

The Forum became a unique platform that brought together representatives of the European Commission, international financial institutions (IFIs, DFIs), the investment community and the Ukrainian banking sector. We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the organisers Sayenko Kharenko who had made this high end event and meaningful discussions possible.

“We do not only measure the determination and willingness of international partners to support Ukraine in billions of euros. No less important are the spirit of the forum participants, their energy, professionalism, and desire to join efforts to facilitate the economic recovery of Ukraine. At the same time, this is a clear signal for domestic private banks: we must continue to develop and meet the highest global standards in order to be full-fledged participants in this ecosystem," noted Yurii Voievoda.

Business integration into the European ecosystem

Yurii Voievoda was an invited speaker at a panel discussion “Making the Deal Work: How International Capital Reaches Ukraine”, where he shared the first unique experience of Pivdenny Bank with colleagues and partners regarding participation in the innovative Export Credit Pilot and the start of our cooperation with Exim Banca Românească.

It is a large-scale programme launched in 2026 and it is a joint initiative of the European Commission and the European Investment Fund (EIF). The EIF has allocated €300 million to cover up to 80% of the risks of European ECAs (export credit agencies) that support their exporters. The programme is focused on European SME exporters working with a Ukrainian counterparty, which can be either private or public company.

Strategic partnership with Exim Banca Românească

Before launching the project, the Pivdenny team conducted an in-depth analysis of our clients’ import operations among the nine countries whose ECAs had joined the pilot. Imports from Romania came on top with staggering 106 million euros.

Therefore, we initiated cooperation with Exim Banca Românească, Romanian export credit agency (to which the EIF allocated a limit of EUR 35 million as part of the pilot). We are sincerely grateful to our Romanian colleagues for their tight involvement and prompt cooperation.

In the near future, we are planning to expand the geography of partnership and strengthen our cooperation with other European ECAs in order to provide the Ukrainian business with even more effective financial tools for integration into the European market.

Let’s work together to facilitate the development of Ukrainian business and our joint victory on the economic front!
