Four Years of Resilience: How Pivdenny Bank Supports the State, Its Team, and Clients

February 24 is a date that changed us forever. For four years now, Ukraine has been living in the conditions of a full-scale war. Throughout this time, Pivdenny Bank – a Ukrainian privately owned bank – has been working to strengthen the country’s economic resilience and support its people.
As a systemically important bank, we ensure the stability of banking services and continue financing businesses that preserve jobs, pay taxes, and keep developing even in these extremely challenging circumstances.
Over the four years of a full-scale war, the bank has consistently paid taxes and fulfilled its obligations to the state. Pivdenny Bank has paid to the state budget an amount of UAH 5.8 billion – a direct contribution to national defense, the social sector, and functioning of the country.
A separate focus area is systemic charitable support. During this time, the bank has allocated approximately UAH 100 million to support the country. The assistance includes support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, military units where our colleagues serve, comprehensive child support programs – psychological, educational, and physical – as well as the development of veteran-focused initiatives aimed at reintegration and return to active civilian life.
Responsibility to the country begins with responsibility to the team. For more than 1,600 employees, we have maintained stability: no layoffs and full salary payments throughout this period. Health insurance programs, professional psychological support, and financial assistance for employees affected by the war are integral parts of the bank’s systemic HR policy.
Today, 35 of our colleagues are serving in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and 23 are veterans. Mobilized employees receive monthly financial support and have access to insurance programs, psychological counseling, and legal assistance. Together, we help meet the urgent needs of military units where our colleagues serve. We remember with deep sorrow those who lost their lives defending Ukraine.
These years have been a test for the entire country. For us, they have been the years of decisions, responsibility, and daily work. We continue to be a reliable pillar for our clients, our team, and the state – today and in the future, as Ukraine recovers and grows.
