The first Pivdenny Set camp has come to a close!

The first adaptive tennis camp in Kyiv, organised as part of the partnership between Pivdenny Bank and the U+ System Prosthetics and Rehabilitation Centre, has come to a close. The event marked the beginning of a long-term collaboration focused on rehabilitation, social reintegration, and the development of adaptive sports for veterans.

The initiative attracted strong interest from the veteran community: 108 veterans from across Ukraine registered to take part in the project, ranging in age from 20 to 56. Twenty veterans participated in the first Kyiv camp, where, over several days, they not only learned the fundamentals of tennis under the guidance of professional coaches but also took part in a comprehensive programme of physical and psychological rehabilitation.

Each day included two tennis training sessions, functional fitness workouts, swimming, and water volleyball. For those looking for even more sporting activities, table tennis competitions were also organised. As the camp progressed, a true competitive spirit quickly emerged among the participants, with everyone determined to achieve their best results and earn a place in the project’s final tournament in Odesa.

On 25 June, Kyiv hosted the final of the first qualifying tournament. Winners of the Kyiv adaptive tennis tournament:

2nd place – Oleksandr Yarosh and Vladyslav Shevchenko
3rd place – Oles Mosenko and Yevhen Harkavyi
4th place – Dmytro Vorobiov and Oleksandr Sierov
5th place – Fares Kaluzhanin and Maksym Shcherbyna

The teams finishing first and second qualified for the national final in Odesa!

Pivdenny Set is the first large-scale initiative launched under the partnership between Pivdenny Bank and U+ System. The project features a series of qualifying tournaments in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odesa, and Lviv, culminating in the national final in Odesa.

Through its partnership with U+ System, Pivdenny Bank continues to develop a practical model of veteran support, where sport serves as a powerful tool for physical rehabilitation, reintegration into active life, and the promotion of a barrier-free and inclusive society in Ukraine.
