Pivdenny Bank attends the large-scale International Business Valuation Conference organised by TEGOVA jointly with the Latvian Association of Property Appraisers (LIVA)

The modern financial world is evolving at an unprecedented pace. Artificial intelligence (AI), Big Data analytics, increasingly stringent ESG requirements, and global geopolitical challenges are fundamentally transforming the role of appraisers and collateral valuation standards.
To remain aligned with the European practices and implement the best solutions for our clients and partners, we continuously monitor key professional developments in the industry.
On 22 May 2026, a large-scale International Business Valuation Conference was held in Riga, Latvia, organised by TEGOVA in cooperation with the Latvian Association of Property Appraisers (LIVA). Pivdenny Bank was represented at the event by Vitalii Hahauz, Director of the Valuation and Collateral Operations Department, who holds the Recognised European Valuer (REV) status awarded by TEGOVA.
“In 2026, valuation practice in Ukraine is expected to transition to international and European valuation standards. The National Bank of Ukraine and our international partners are actively implementing ESG requirements. Although AI will not replace appraisers or collateral specialists, it will certainly replace those who do not know how to use it. That is why it was extremely important for me to hear the views of leading representatives of the EU valuation community on these and other current challenges in the field of business valuation,” said Vitalii Hahauz.
Key insights and discussion topics:
- According to Paulo Barros Trindade, TEGOVA President, the appraiser’s role is currently undergoing one of its most significant transformations, driven by AI, Big Data, ESG requirements, geopolitical factors (including the war in Ukraine), and changes in the regulatory environment.
- The conference featured the presentation of the updated 2026 European Business Valuation Standards (2nd Edition) and the Standards for Valuation of Intangible Assets. These standards address the industry’s emerging challenges, including the principles and limitations of using AI in valuation and integration of ESG risk considerations into the valuation process.
- Business valuation in the renewable energy sector is particularly relevant for both Ukraine and Pivdenny Bank, which actively finances solar energy projects, including through partnership programmes with equipment manufacturers.
Such events not only broaden professional perspectives but also provide a deeper understanding of how European legislation, international standards, and technological advancements are reshaping the day-to-day work of appraisers, collateral specialists, and risk managers.
We continue to integrate European best practices into the Bank’s internal processes to ensure the highest standards of accuracy, transparency, and reliability for every project we undertake for our clients.
