Yurii Voievoda elected Deputy Chairperson of the IABU International Cooperation Committee

Yurii Voievoda, Director of the Department of Investment Business of Pivdenny Bank, has been elected Deputy Chairperson of the International Cooperation Committee of the Independent Association of the Banks of Ukraine.

The Committee was created to ensure coordination of the interaction of the Ukrainian banking sector with international financial institutions and support the European integration of the Ukrainian financial system. The key areas of its work are the formation of coordinated positions of banks in cooperation with international financial institutions, expanding access to financing for Ukrainian businesses, and strengthening the role of the banking sector in the recovery and reconstruction of the country.

The participation of a Pivdenny Bank’s representative in the committee management will inevitably contribute to the more active development of cooperation between Ukrainian banks and international financial institutions and the strengthening of their role in economic recovery.

“I am convinced that the banking sector of Ukraine should play a leading role in the process of the country’s European integration and actively expand cooperation with international financial institutions. This will make it possible to attract foreign investments for the reconstruction of Ukraine and the development of Ukrainian business,” said Yurii Voievoda.

According to him, today 7 out of 16 systemic banks in Ukraine still do not have access to the programmes of international financial institutions, 6 of them are private Ukrainian banks, which creates a certain competitive imbalance in the sector. “As Deputy Chairperson, I am planning to promote broader cooperation between Ukrainian private banks and international financial institutions and expand their participation in international programmes,” he added.
