Returning from war brings not only physical challenges but also significant social ones. That is why it is essential to create opportunities for veterans to participate fully in community life, re-establish their everyday roles, and regain a sense of balance and purpose.
UAH 250,000 for Veteran’s Sports Rehabilitation in Odesa
Pivdenny Bank continues its long-term commitment to supporting veterans and promoting an inclusive, barrier-free environment in Odesa.
On April 26, during the III SEASIDE MARATHON ODESA, the Bank donated UAH 250,000 to support sports rehabilitation programmes for veterans at Superhumans Centre. The funding will help veterans return to active lives through sports, teamwork, and community support.
For us, this is more than charity – it is part of a broader strategy to facilitate veterans’ successful reintegration into civilian life. Supporting veteran sports initiatives on a long-term basis is one of the Bank’s key Corporate Social Responsibility priorities. Last autumn, Pivdenny Bank also partnered with the Independence Half Marathon, supporting the Veteran’s Route race and the Wheelchair Race. Approximately 50 veterans and military men participated in the event. This year, the number of veteran participants increased to 75.

Pivdenny Bank Donates UAH 250,000 to Support Sports Rehabilitation for Veterans in Odesa
Partnership with U+ System to Support Veterans
Pivdenny Bank and U+ System, a prosthetics and rehabilitation centre, have signed a memorandum of understanding establishing a long-term partnership to support the rehabilitation and well-being of Ukraine’s veterans.
The partnership provides for the implementation of joint charitable initiatives focused on physical and psychological rehabilitation, social reintegration, education, and the development of adaptive sports programmes. One of the first joint initiatives will be Pivdenny Set, a series of adaptive tennis tournaments for veterans. The project includes four qualifying tournaments in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odesa and Lviv, followed by a championship final in Odesa. The total project budget amounts to UAH 2.5 million.
“Supporting veterans is not about one-time assistance – it is about sustained commitment. Our goal is to create opportunities for veterans to return to active lives while restoring their physical and psychological well-being. That is why we invest in the initiatives that combine rehabilitation, adaptive sports, and social integration,” Alla Vanetsiants, Chair of the Management Board, Pivdenny Bank.
According to U+ System, partnerships between businesses and civil society organizations have become one of the key drivers of effective support for veterans and people affected by the war. Joint initiatives make rehabilitation services more accessible and help build sustainable long-term recovery programmes.
