The procedure for authentication of online payment transactions for individual clients will change at Pivdenny Bank

From July 9, 2024, Pivdenny Bank will start to implement the changes regarding the procedure of authentication of online payment transactions for individual clients. Changes are conditioned by Resolution On Approval of Authentication and Application of Enforced Authentication in the Payment Market, approved by Decision of the National Bank of Ukraine No. 58.

  1. If client is registered in the Pivdenny Online mobile application and has activated push notifications, authentication will be available to him exclusively with the use of the Pivdenny Online application (biometric authentication).
  2. If the client has not activated push notifications in the Pivdenny Online mobile application or is the holder of an additional card, two-factor authentication will be available to him. Authentication will take place in accordance with the following procedure:
    • the client enters payment card data to pay for goods/services and is redirected to the authentication page;
    • enters the first factor of authentication - the date of birth in the format that will be indicated on the screen form;
    • introduces the second factor of authentication - OTP code sent by the bank to him.

Data changes will be introduced by the bank gradually: at first all clients will be able to be authenticated using two-factor authentication, later those clients who​ activated push notifications in the Pivdenny Online application, will be transferred to authentication exclusively with help of the Pivdenny Online application (biometric authentication). Full adaptation of changes for all clients will take place during July.​
