Pivdenny Bank expands Academic Hub educational project and begins cooperation with Odesa universities

Pivdenny Bank has signed memoranda on academic and educational cooperation with Odesa National Economic University and Odesa I. I. Mechnikov National University. The partnership provides for joint educational and research projects as part of Academic Hub Pivdenny – an educational platform that brings together the university environment and real-world business.
The aim of the cooperation is to give students more opportunities to gain practical knowledge, communicate directly with business representatives and better understand how the economy works beyond the university classroom.
“A company’s success depends first and foremost on its people – on how well they can unlock their talents and develop them through their work. That is why we created Academic Hub – to help young professionals understand earlier what they are interested in, which areas they want to develop and how to build their careers. We want students to believe that they can grow professionally, increase their value in the labour market and realise their potential in Ukraine,” emphasised Alla Vanetsiants, Chairperson of the Management Board of Pivdenny Bank.
The Bank’s educational project, Academic Hub Pivdenny, has been running for two and a half years in partnership with Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. During this time, students have had the opportunity to learn from business representatives, work on practical cases and gain better understanding of how academic knowledge is applied in a professional environment.
The experience gained through this partnership has provided a foundation for further development of the initiative. Cooperation with Odesa universities is the next step in scaling up the project and supporting economic education.
The partnership also involves business representatives in the development and review of educational programmes. This interaction helps universities take current employer needs into account and gives students a better understanding of the knowledge and skills they will need at the beginning of their professional careers.
“This cooperation will be extremely valuable for us, because modern economic education cannot exist without studying successful business cases, which are undoubtedly part of Pivdenny Bank’s long history. Despite all the challenges of the present day, we are pleased that we can provide young people with the conditions they need for education and future development,” said Anatolii Kovaliov, Rector of Odesa National Economic University.
“We are already working closely with Pivdenny Bank on preparing students for their future careers as managers, accounting specialists, finance professionals and economists. I hope that this new direction of cooperation will also prove successful both for young people and for the Bank,” said Viacheslav Truba, Rector of Odesa I. I. Mechnikov National University.
For Pivdenny Bank, supporting economic education is one of the ways it responsibly engages with young people. For a bank that works with corporate businesses, this cooperation also provides an opportunity to contribute to the development of future professionals through practical experience, exposure to real-world business and professional opportunities while still studying.
The expansion of Academic Hub Pivdenny to Odesa universities builds on the work already launched and opens up new opportunities for interaction between students, educators and businesses.
