Assistance from Pivdenny: Ukrainian doctors operating military study microsurgery in Latvia

Ukrainian doctors, who perform complex surgeries on wounded soldiers, study microsurgery in Riga as part of the advanced training programme, which is carried out thanks to the help of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia. Since the beginning of October, two groups of doctors have already completed the training. Bank Pivdenny Bank together with partners joined the organization of training.

In the first and second intakes, doctors from different oblasts of Ukraine - Lviv, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Odesa - improved their qualifications. Training, theoretical training and exchange of experience with colleagues lasted four weeks. The attention of Ukrainian and Latvian doctors was focused on the treatment of combat injuries at various stages of evacuation during hostilities. And the training gave the first results: Ukrainian doctors have already started to perform successful surgeries, using the techniques studied in Latvia.

Training of Ukrainian colleagues in Riga was organized by Latvian microsurgeons Olafs Libermanis and Mārtiņš Malzubris, who regularly came to operate on wounded soldiers in Ukraine after the beginning of the Russian full-scale aggression.

This is not the first time Pivdenny Bank has helped Latvian doctors in their medical initiatives. During the first visit of microsurgeons to Ukraine, Pivdenny together with RIB bank - a partner from Latvia - helped them with the purchase of surgical consumables. Doctors perform extremely complex surgeries and willingly share their experience with Ukrainian colleagues.

Olafs Libermanis and Mārtiņš Malzubris plan to continue training their Ukrainian colleagues so that they can perform complex microsurgical surgeries, which are needed by wounded soldiers.
