Elvorti invests nearly UAH 35 million in its own solar power plant with support from Pivdenny Bank-Банк Пивденный

Elvorti, one of the Ukraine’s oldest agricultural machinery manufacturers, has completed the construction of a 2 MW rooftop solar power plant. The total investment amounted to nearly UAH 35 million, with the project financed by Pivdenny Bank under a partnership programme.

The Bank joined the project at the preparation stage, offering partnership financing at an interest rate of 8% per annum during the first year, helping expand the pool of potential suppliers invited to the tender, and reviewing the project’s financial model and payback calculations. Coordination between the Bank, the partner, and the supplier enabled the company to secure optimal commercial terms for the investment.

For the company, installing the solar power plant was a response to several challenges at once: rising electricity costs, the risk of power supply disruptions, and the need to make production more energy-resilient. According to the company’s estimates, the plant will cover approximately 25% of its annual electricity consumption, while the projected payback period for the project is approximately two and a half years.

Before making the decision, the company considered various options for investing in energy efficiency. Ultimately, the solar power plant proved to be the solution that combines cost savings with greater energy independence for the production facility.

The plant was commissioned in June, so it is still too early to assess the actual savings. At the same time, the project is already creating a foundation for reducing operating costs, enabling more predictable energy consumption planning, and increasing the company’s resilience to potential disruptions in the energy system.

For Pivdenny Bank, this is one example of how partnership programmes help Ukrainian manufacturing companies invest in their own power generation capacity, reduce energy risks, and implement projects without diverting significant amounts of working capital.
