People development begins with a strong corporate culture and systemic HR solutions, – Yuliia Titurenko-Банк Пивденный

During the "HRD – Secrets of the Profession" panel discussion at the HR Wisdom Summit, Yuliia Titurenko, Director of the Human Capital Development Department at Pivdenny Bank, shared practical approaches to working with talent, developing managers, and shaping corporate culture.

According to her, the competition for candidates today should not start with inflated promises:

"We honestly tell candidates that the bank is in a state of active transformation. This involves a fast pace of change, many new projects and opportunities to prove oneself. But at the same time, it means high responsibility, the need to adapt quickly and step out of one's comfort zone."

Speaking about talent retention, Yuliia noted that it is not about fighting for an employee at the last moment, but about the systematic work of the manager and the company throughout the person's entire journey in the organisation:

"If a manager only finds out about an employee's decision to resign when they see the resignation letter, it is a signal that the system has failed. The manager's task is to understand the state of their team, provide timely feedback, support development and notice when a person is losing motivation."

That is why the bank systematically invests in the development of managers, a service culture and tools that help managers work with teams at all stages of an employee's professional journey.

Concluding the discussion, she emphasised that in conditions of constant change, the culture of attitude towards mistakes takes on special significance:

"If people are afraid of making mistakes, they stop taking responsibility and proposing new solutions. Mistakes are not a reason to stop, but an opportunity to draw conclusions, improve processes and move forward. It is this culture that helps teams learn and adapt quickly."

In Yuliia's opinion, it is a strong corporate culture, honest communication and the development of managers that are the foundation for building resilient teams in a period of constant change.
