‘Pivdenny’ Bank has changed the procedure for authenticating online payment transactions for individual clients

06.08.2024

‘Pivdenny’ Bank has completed the implementation of changes to the procedure for authenticating online payment transactions for individual clients. The changes are due to the Resolution ‘On Approval of the Regulation on Authentication and Application of Enhanced Authentication in the Payment Market’ approved by the Management Board of the National Bank of Ukraine No. 58.

Starting from 31 July 2024, all holders of ‘Pivdenny’ Bank cards issued for the Bank's private clients will be able to use two-factor authentication of online payment transactions. Authentication takes place according to the following procedure:

  • the customer enters payment card details to pay for goods/services and is redirected to the authentication page;
  • enters the first authentication factor – date of birth in the format that will be indicated on the screen form;
  • enters the second authentication factor – the OTP code sent by the Bank.

Starting from 06 August 2024, customers who are registered in the Pivdenny Online mobile application and have activated the push notification function will be able to authenticate exclusively using the Pivdenny Online application (biometric authentication). This type of authentication will be available exclusively to account holders with a payment card. For customers who are additional holders, only two-factor authentication is available, as such customers cannot be registered in the Pivdenny Online mobile application.

If you have any questions during the payment process, you can contact the bank's Customer Support Centre at 0 800 30 70 30 (free of charge in Ukraine) and +380 482 307030 (for calls from abroad) or the chat-bot @pivdennybank_bot in Telegram/Viber.
