Pivdenny Bank Financed the Construction of a Grain Terminal on the Border with Romania with an Annual Capacity of More Than 1 Million Tons

Joint-Stock Bank Pivdenny financed the implementation of one of the country's key infrastructure projects - the creation of an overland grain corridor on the border with Romania. Producers have already sent more than 60,000 tons of grain with the help of the terminal's capacities.

Vadul-Siret Terminal is designed for transshipment of grain from motor vehicles and railway wagons from the broad Ukrainian gauge to wagons with a narrow European gauge. This is a powerful step in addition to the existing sea grain corridor from the ports of greater Odesa, which will allow farmers to significantly increase the export of agricultural products.

The project transshipment capacity is about 3,000 tons per day, the one-time storage capacity is 30,000 tons. Pivdenny Bank acted as a partner of this project and opened a financing limit of UAH 150 million to the Ukrainian group of companies Alebor Group.

The importance of this project for Ukraine is difficult to overestimate: Vadul-Siret Terminal will provide convenient logistics of grain from Ukraine to EU countries, in particular to the Romanian port of Constanta, and will influence not only the growth of exports and foreign currency receipts, but also the improvement of global food security.

In the near future, the company plans to reach the capacity of 50,000 tons per month and the maximum capacity during the second quarter.

Alebor Group is a group of companies that has been working in the grain market of Ukraine for more than 20 years, a large grain trader providing producers with a full cycle of services — starting from grain collection, transportation, finishing and storage at elevators to shipment, delivery to the port and sale.
