A Year of Records and Peak Loads: What 2025 Taught the Banking Sector and What to Expect in 2026
The year 2025 will go down in the history of the Ukrainian banking system as paradoxical. Formally, it was one of the most successful years of the past decade. In terms of figures, however, it was a year that highlighted the limits of resilience approached by both banks and businesses.
For Pivdenny Bank, this year became a milestone. In the business lending segment, we ranked second among systemically important banks in terms of growth rates, while ensuring the lowest non-performing loan (NPL) ratio in the country – only 2.4%. Importantly, 60% of the growth was driven by new clients. For the bank, this is not merely statistics, but a direct indicator confirming our ambition to be the best partner for Ukrainian business, built on an exceptional level of trust.
Forecasts for the coming year were shared by Maksym Tsymbal, First Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Pivdenny Bank, in his column for New Voice. The full text is available at the link.
