13.04.2020

Odesa City Maternity Hospital No. 2 has received a blood gas analyser with electrolyte analysis which will help to treat pregnant women and women in labour suffering from the coronavirus.

The maternity hospital is one of the basic medical institutions of Odesa, i.e. those selected by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine for COVID-19 treatment.

The cost of the blood gas analyser is UAH 367,000. Pivdenny Bank allocated funds for the purchase of equipment.

The critical condition analyser is used in critical care units requiring constant monitoring of blood gas and electrolyte exchange.

It is a portable analyser to use near the patient's bed that measures haemoglobin content, oxygen saturation, blood gases, electrolytes and glucose. This device will provide complete treatment to pregnant women and women in labour with COVID-19.

The total weight of the analyser is less than 5.5 kg, which makes it easy to transport when needed. It can operate not only from the network, but also for 8 hours using a built-in battery.

Pivdenny Bank has already allocated more than UAH 3 million to help combat the coronavirus in the Odesa region. The Bank allocated UAH 1,630,000 for the installation of an oxygen station at the Danube Regional Hospital in Izmail. For Odesa hospitals, the Bank purchased an artificial lung ventilation apparatus worth over UAH 500,000 and a liquid oxygen tank worth UAH 450,000. In addition, the Bank allocated UAH 500,000 for food kits for the elderly of age 80 and over in the Odesa region.

Total Pivdenny Bank assistance to combat the spread of coronavirus in Ukraine amounts to almost UAH 3.5 million.
